For Christians, there’s no real need to wait for the dawn to break – that happened when Jesus was born. We simply need to step out of the shadow of death and look around at the world revealed by His light.
In that spirit, for the Winter 2021 issue of Archways, we reached out to parishes and ministries around the archdiocese. In “A Time to (Re)Build,” pastors tell us how their parishes responded to the shutdown and reached out to help parishioners and other neighbors in need. Leaders of Catholic Charities and ArchCare give on-the-ground accounts of work in service to the hungry and the homeless, the unemployed and under-supported, the elderly and the ill. And educators, youth ministers, leaders of diversity ministries and the president of Sisters of Charity add their voices, too.
