As Lent comes to a close and the promise of Easter is fulfilled, we thankfully and joyfully renew our devotion to the Lord. God’s gifts are all around us, and the Spring 2022 edition of Archways is all about those gifts. The cover feature, “In His Service,” salutes the altar servers of the Archdiocese of New York, whose model of humble worship is a gift to the faithful at Mass every Sunday. “Parent/Child” looks at the gifts of love and life as embodied in our children, with a helpful guide to the many services the archdiocese offers parents. And “Venerable Félix Varela” recounts the many blessings brought to our shores by that Cuban priest – and candidate for sainthood – who landed in New York in 1823 and served for three decades as a pastor and a beacon of mercy to the poor, the sick, and the displaced.
